For this project, we decided to take a closer look at a number of ski areas, all of which are a different size and respect a variety of demographics. Killington is the largest mountain we investigated, followed by Smugglers Notch, and Middlebury College Snow Bowl.  We will hopefully be adding more ski areas to this list as time goes on. 

KILLINGTON

Since Killington Mountain Resort was bought out by Powdr Corporation and SP Land Co. in May 2007, environmental initiatives have been greatly improved and implemented compared to when the area was owned by the American Skiing Company.  Within one year the company has made a complete turnaround from its earlier environmental advances.  However, the mountain still has great potential towards implementing viable environmental initiatives such as using alternative fuels and customer offset programs.
